Topic 1-Technology evolution

I think technology is very interesting especially with how much technology has advanced in the last 20, even 30 years. My grandparents still don't really grasp the concept of smart phones and don't understand that they can do almost with them. My parents and friends are big flea market people and love bringing home things like type writers and then send me pictures of the old cameras and phones. I think I could create interesting compositions using the monochromatic feature on the camera to make everything black and white to symbolize the old photos.

Topic 2-Nature

I think nature is very interesting because you can create interesting shots in any weather. Some of my favorite photos to take and see are right after it rains. The best compositions for right now that I can think of are pictures in a forest with the evening colors. especially right now when it seems like everything is popping during the evening hours. When I look at nature it just clears my mind and feel completely relaxed.

  1. Hi Josh,

I found you photos from April 12th create a dark and mysterious mood that seems to tie them all together. Even the photos in the light have large shadows that keep them from standing out too much. I'm not entirely sure what the essay is about based on the photos alone. I wonder if you could organize them in a way that starts to tell a story based on the progression of the photos. Most of your photos have a focal point in the foreground, but a few do not. A way to unify them a bit more could be to try and add that to the scenes that focus more on the background. The first two photos look to be about the same with a different focus. I would recommend maybe taking one of them out since you don't seem to use that pattern on any other photo. Or another solution could be to make that a part of your portfolio and add more photos that are of the same scene with different focus points. Overall I really like your choice of images and I look forward to seeing the final project!
